New Woolworths Distribution Centre: Port Adelaide Enfield
This morning, Mayor Claire Boan joined Premier Steven Marshall to officially open the new $57 million upgrade of the Woolworths Distribution Center at Gepps Cross. The facility is now the size of four Adelaide Ovals and includes 3,500 solar panels. It will supply every Woolworths store in South Australia and the Northern Territory from right here in PAE.
The extra capacity at the site will bring forward delivery lead times on popular essentials and allow them to better respond to any sudden increase in demand such as experienced during the Covid lockdowns.
The City of PAE is a key region for South Australia’s economic growth and a vital hub for logistics and distribution. Having Woolworths commit to establish in our region provides significant employment opportunities and also supports local food producers and businesses.
